The Engineering Design Process and What is Technology?

Today students in Lift Off! used the Engineering Design Process to imagine, plan, and create a tower that would hold a statue. They then pondered this idea of technology and what technology really is. Many of us think it's all about electronics. The working definition in this class is that it is manmade and helps people. With that definition in mind we ended the day debating if a genetically modified tomato plant is technology. What do you think?
